Job Qualifications
- at least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience
- previous supervisory experience required
- proficiency in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
- effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
- effective listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
- ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- participate in manager on duty coverage as required
- maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel standards
- maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- comply with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations
- identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions

Job Duties
- be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times
- respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents arising in person or through various communication channels in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
- motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all Rooms Division personnel in accordance with Highgate Hotel standard operating procedures
- assist in preparing and conducting interviews and hiring processes while supporting Human Resources recruiting efforts
- develop employee morale and ensure training of Rooms Division personnel
- maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees, and other departments
- ensure implementation of all Highgate Hotel policies and house rules
- monitor oversold dates to maximize room revenue
- conduct daily tours of Rooms operating departments to engage employees and solicit feedback
- assist in maximizing room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily and analyzing rate variance and house count
- attend daily and monthly Rooms Merchandizing meetings
- assist in completing monthly reforecast and revenue forecasting
- monitor and support corporate Guest Recognition Program
- control expenses and maximize profit through effective monitoring
- ensure compliance with SOPs in Rooms and Loss Prevention
- conduct walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards
- perform Rooms Managers’ performance reviews and oversee administration of reviews by managers
- monitor labor expenses to ensure budgeted productivity
- prepare department heads for succession
- operate Front Office computer system and PBX console effectively
- coordinate ongoing implementation of Highgate Hotel philosophy of service
- ensure staff knowledge and implementation of corporate marketing programs
- monitor all VIPs, special guests, and requests
- ensure overall guest satisfaction
