Job Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- previous supervisor experience preferred
- ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak, and hear during shift
- lifting up to 35 lbs for clinical staff and 50 lbs for non-clinical staff, with assistance for heavier items
- must be able to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
- willingness to adhere to hospital and department policies
- strong interpersonal skills to communicate with diverse patient populations
- capability to manage and supervise a team effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- previous supervisor experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety regulations such as HACCP
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to train and mentor staff
- understanding of patient dietary needs
- ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Supervises all room service representatives, expediters, floor stocker, and dish room attendants activities
- communicates effectively with employees, patients, and family members to ensure quality patient meals and resolve problems
- maintains records for financial and quality control monitors including taking food temperatures, tray counts, audits, test trays, and meal rounds
- holds pre-service meetings with the room service team
- reports discrepancies to room service supervisor in a timely manner
- ensures tray tickets print on time and trays are made and delivered timely and efficiently
- assists with training of all room service employees and has knowledge of all diets
- documents incidents and reports them to room service supervisor
- maintains adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures
- supervises and corrects employees not adhering to policies
- exemplifies leadership skills by setting a good example
- assists Room Service Supervisor with projects as needed
