Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of relevant work experience in lieu of high school diploma
- Ability to follow isolation and safety procedures
- Good color discrimination, depth perception, far and near vision, and hearing
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, carry, climb, crawl, lift, pull, push, reach, and squat for extended periods
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of relevant work experience in lieu of high school diploma
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Experience in customer service or food service preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Basic cash handling skills
Job Duties
- Deliver patient and family meals in a courteous and timely manner
- Participate in lining, passing, and picking up patient trays
- Handle cash transactions related to guest and visitor trays
- Follow proper isolation procedures and verify two patient identifiers before meal delivery
- Assist in distributing room service menus on patient trays and to ISS stations
- Communicate with patients and families to support meal ordering
- Help coworkers maintain quality and efficiency in the department
- Assist Expeditor and Cooks with stocking refrigerators, bases, lids, and paper goods
- Line patient trays and assemble flatware while maintaining cleanliness
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
- Utilize the Tray Monitor System to log meal delivery times
- Communicate with Diet Office or management for service recovery or safety concerns
- Coordinate with RNs for delivery to isolation rooms
- Adhere to daily pick up schedule for soiled patient trays and return to dish room
