Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and the ability to compute percentages
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone, in person and other means
  • Exposure to patient environment
  • No driving required

  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Experience with CBORD preferred

Job Duties

  • Communicating effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices to enter into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system
  • Verifying patient satisfaction and identifying meal service problems
  • Assisting patients on missed meal report for menu selections each meal
  • Communicating with the dietitian or dietetic technician when patient food, beverage, or supplement intake is poor
  • Communicating patient’s special requests for food not allowed on their diets or diet education
  • Accurately entering and updating all meal selections, orders, preferences, special requests for food in CBORD system
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Delivering all patient nourishments, snacks and tube feeding products
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Possibly performing duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed
