Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute percentages
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to effectively communicate by telephone, in person and fax
  • Exposure to patient environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • CBORD experience preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices to enter into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system
  • Verify patient satisfaction and identify meal service problems
  • Assist patients listed on missed meal report for menu selections each meal
  • Communicate with the dietitian or dietetic technician when patient’s food, beverage, or supplement intake is poor
  • Communicate patient’s special requests for food not allowed on their diets or diet education
  • Accurately enter and update all meal selections, orders, preferences, and special requests in CBORD system
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, performing cleaning and waste disposal duties
  • Deliver all patient nourishments, snacks, and tube feeding products
  • Identify safety hazards in the department and react to eliminate hazards quickly
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed
