Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, pull, push and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to effectively communicate via telephone, in person and other means
  • Willingness to work 4-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Exposure to patient care environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Experience with CBORD system preferred

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices to enter into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system
  • Verify patient satisfaction and identify meal service problems
  • Assist patients on missed meal reports for menu selections each meal
  • Communicate with dietitian or dietetic technician when patient food, beverage or supplement intake is poor
  • Communicate patient’s special requests for food not allowed on their diets or diet education
  • Accurately enter and update all meal selections, orders, preferences, special requests for food in CBORD system
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work environment including cleaning, waste disposal and equipment operation
  • Deliver all patient nourishments, snacks and tube feeding products
  • Work well in a team environment
  • May perform duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed
