Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and the ability to compute percentages
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • CBORD experience preferred
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, reach, pull and push
  • Exposure to patient environment
  • Effective speech, sight and hearing to communicate by telephone, in person and fax

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and computing percentages
  • Experience with CBORD system preferred

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices and entering them into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system
  • Verify patient satisfaction with meals, identify meal service problems and assist patients on missed meal report for menu selections each meal
  • Communicate with the dietitian or dietetic technician when patient food, beverage or supplement intake is poor
  • Communicate patient special requests for food not allowed on their diets or diet education
  • Accurately enter and update all meal selections, orders, preferences, and special food requests in the CBORD system
  • Take orders or enter meal selections into CBORD On Demand when patients are unable to select meals verbally
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • perform cleaning, waste disposal and equipment operation duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Monitor, rotate, and fill floor stock according to pars
  • Check refrigerators and dry storage areas in pantries for cleanliness and discard out-of-date products as needed
  • Identify safety hazards in the department and react to eliminate hazards quickly
  • Deliver all patient nourishments, snacks and tube feeding products
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • May be required to perform duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed
