Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least one year of previous food service or customer service experience
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, perform repetitive motions, reaching, pulling, and pushing
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively through telephone and in person
  • Willingness to work 5 four-hour shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and compute percentages
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Competence with basic computer skills
  • Previous food service or customer service experience of at least one year
  • Preferred experience with the CBORD system

Job Duties

  • Communicating effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices to enter into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system
  • Verifying patient satisfaction with meal service and identifying any issues
  • Assisting patients on missed meal reports for menu selections each meal
  • Communicating with dietitians or dietetic technicians when patient food, beverage, or supplement intake is poor
  • Communicating patient’s special requests for food not allowed on their diets or for diet education
  • Accurately entering and updating all meal selections, orders, preferences, and special food requests in the CBORD system
  • Taking orders or entering meal selections into CBORD On Demand if patient is unable to select meals verbally
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment including cleaning, waste disposal, and equipment operation
  • Monitoring, rotating, and filling floor stock according to pars
  • Checking refrigerators and dry storage for cleanliness and discarding out-of-date products
  • Identifying and eliminating safety hazards promptly
  • Delivering all patient nourishments, snacks, and tube feeding products
  • Collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Potentially performing duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed
