Job Requirements
- Associates degree in culinary arts preferred
- Minimum one year experience in culinary food preparation
- Three years of extensive production experience in quantity food preparation preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy food supplies
- Experience operating kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow recipes
- Physical ability to work in temperature and noise conditions
- Willingness to adhere to safety and sanitary standards
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in culinary arts preferred
- Manager certified in food safety license preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to plan food preparation for timely and quality menu delivery
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy food supplies
- Experience in operating kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
- Experience in quantity food preparation such as entrees, sauces, and soups preferred
- Aptitude and willingness to learn role-related skills
Job Duties
- Review menu entrees to ensure timely preparation and readiness of items requiring advanced preparation
- Review food production figures to determine quantities of main entrees to prepare and coordinate with supervisor to minimize spoilage and waste
- Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients for soups, meats, sauces, and gravies according to recipes
- Cook regular and special diet foods following established recipes and inspect food for correct seasoning, quality, and serving temperature
- Operate various manual and automatic kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, grills, fryers, blenders, slicers, and mixers
- Estimate food requirements and control serving portions to minimize costs and leftovers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of all equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Properly cover, store, and date all foodstuffs
- Perform other duties as assigned
