Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • minimum of one year experience in food preparation
  • three years of extensive production experience preferred
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy food supplies
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • willingness to learn role related skills

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of one year experience with preferred three years extensive production experience in quantity food preparation
  • aptitude and willingness to learn role related skills

Job Duties

  • Review menu entrees to ensure timely preparation and advanced preparation items are ready
  • review food production figures to determine quantities of main entrees and coordinate with supervisor to minimize waste
  • measure, weigh, and combine ingredients for soups, meats, sauces, and gravies per recipe
  • cook regular and special diet foods and inspect for seasoning, quality, and proper serving temperature
  • operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, grills, fryers, blenders, slicers, and mixers
  • estimate food requirements and control serving portions to manage costs and reduce leftovers
  • maintain equipment, utensils, and work areas in sanitary and orderly condition
  • ensure foodstuffs are properly covered, stored, and dated
  • perform other duties as assigned
