- excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- ability to read, write and speak English required
- ability to perform multiple tasks under time constraints and constant interruption required

- prior patient care experience strongly preferred

Job Duties
- Delivers patient trays including meals, snacks, floor supplies and NOW trays
- assists patients with proper tray positioning and menu selections
- reviews menu options with patients and opens items as necessary
- loads and pushes food trucks to and from patient units
- transports related equipment to appropriate areas
- operates cart lifts, dumbwaiters and elevators
- completes menu rounds by communicating menu system and recording patient choices
- adjusts menus for modified diets
- reviews diet prescriptions with patients
- informs patients of food alternatives due to dietary restrictions
- retrieves all patient trays and delivers them to the main kitchen
- cleans and restocks food carts
- uses computerized menu planning system to generate and verify diet order lists with unit charge nurse or designee
