Job Requirements
- Reading, writing and mathematical skills
- One to two years of related experience in nutrition services
- Food handlers card required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members except in Tucson and Colorado
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines for working with cleaning chemicals
- Ability to learn and work with business computer software and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
- Demonstrated effective customer service skills
- Weekend and holiday availability
- Ability to work day shifts from 11:30am to 8pm
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Skills and knowledge of nutrition services as typically gained through one to two years of related experience
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Friendly customer service attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Ability to learn business computer software and point-of-sale systems
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and ability to pass certification tests
- Preferred bilingual skills in some assignments
- Understanding of modified diets and portion measures
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Visit patients to obtain or discuss menu selections based upon dietary orders
- Enter or record all daily patient meal selections and preferences
- Demonstrate appropriate judgment with modified diets and food knowledge
- Request Diet Tech or Dietitian assistance when needed
- Provide patient meal service including tray assembly and food portioning
- Deliver and serve meals while managing special requests and snacks
- Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to comply with licensing requirements
