Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas and read instructions
- Upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout an 8-hour shift
- Finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
- Ability to work with arms raised above head for prolonged periods
- Ability to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
- Experience using basic residential cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaning machines
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals on a continual basis
- Ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environments
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or cleaning standards
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and write to complete paperwork and log information
- Problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
- Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways
- Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls
- Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
- Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh, checks bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness
- Checks closet for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies
- Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways, including moving heavy furniture
- Inspects door and window locks and reports any unsecured or unsafe conditions
- Inspects room equipment and reports deficiencies
- Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
- Maintains friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Assists laundry department with soiled linen sorting, washing, drying, folding and distribution
- Cleans patio and balcony areas by sweeping, hosing floors, wiping furniture and picking up garbage
- Provides assistance to other employees and departments as needed
