Job Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand or walk throughout the entire shift
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Availability to work 36 to 40 hours per week with flexibility for longer hours
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned by management

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Capable of listening, understanding and clarifying concerns of co-workers and guests
  • Comfortable with physical work involving lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping procedures and safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Job Duties

  • Clean guest rooms including picking up trash, changing linens and making beds, cleaning entire bathrooms, sweeping and dusting guest rooms, cleaning windows and balconies
  • Retrieve, stock, restock and store housekeeping cart according to prescribed procedures and regulations
  • Receive assigned section, keys, supplies and priority room requests from Senior Housekeeper, and turn in keys and unused supplies at shift end
  • Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Report missing articles, damage or mechanical problems to Senior Housekeeper and turn in articles left in rooms
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping Supervisor on work priorities and provide assistance when needed
