Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior hotel housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to stand, squat, walk, climb stairs for extended periods
  • ability to bend, stoop, and reach materials
  • capable of working in temperature extremes
  • ability to follow instructions and training
  • good physical stamina
  • adherence to occupational safety practices
  • ability to respond in emergency situations

Job Qualifications

  • prior hotel experience preferred
  • ability to follow safety practices including personal protective equipment usage
  • ability to demonstrate essential job functions
  • good communication skills
  • teamwork and cooperation skills
  • basic English language proficiency

Job Duties

  • follow payroll and key sign-out procedures
  • clean mirrors, furniture, ash urns, elevators, and doors
  • inventory and maintain cleanliness of all linen closets and empty trash
  • work well with other staff members by planning and following a cleaning schedule
  • follow instructions and training given by supervisor
  • turn in all lost and found articles to supervisor or Director of Housekeeping
  • spot clean furniture and carpets as instructed
  • obtain work reports and load cart with supplies for the day's cleaning
  • assist in moving beds and furniture as requested
  • offer assistance to guests when requested or needed
  • report any maintenance deficiencies to housekeeping
  • follow instructions on which rooms to clean first
  • ensure all bathrooms and beds are cleaned
  • vacuum all rooms daily
  • clean patios, patio furniture, front door, and light fixtures if no housepersons are available
  • clean mirrors and mop tiled floors
  • report occupied or in-use rooms not on reports
  • help fellow employees if finished early
  • clean and stock cart for the next day
  • use and maintain all equipment and supplies properly
  • respond properly in hotel emergency or safety situations
  • complete any projects assigned by housekeeping management
