Job Requirements
- Previous experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form
- Ability to effectively use electronic equipment such as pagers, radios, and other necessary housekeeping devices
- Ability to work well with others and under time constraints
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions
- Ability to promote and facilitate a culture of service and operational excellence

Job Duties
- Perform cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms including vacuuming, high and low dusting, bed making and stripping, removal of general and hazardous waste
- Clean discharge areas, medical wards, utility rooms, galleys, treatment rooms, operating rooms, offices, medical supply rooms and restrooms in patient care areas following proper infection control procedures
- Clean and disinfect isolation rooms according to hospital policy
- Perform general cleaning in public areas such as hallways, offices, elevators and stairwells
- Adhere to all departmental sanitation procedures
