Job Duties

  • Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
  • cleans multiple guest rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
  • replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
  • cleans corridors and stairways
  • sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
  • cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
  • transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
  • scrubs bathroom vanity, toilets, mirrors, walls, and bathroom fans
  • completes quality checks on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
  • removes and processes items left behind according to hotel procedure
  • reports maintenance problems through proper channels
  • uses supplies and equipment responsibly
  • wears proper uniform at all times
  • achieves inspection scores of 90% or higher
  • greets guests pleasantly
  • possesses thorough knowledge of in-house product and local information
  • organizes and stocks cart efficiently
  • maintains cleanliness of commercial areas
  • responds promptly to housekeeping supply requests
  • uses guest names appropriately
  • checks vacant rooms daily for proper status
  • maintains clean and organized supply room
  • displays teamwork and assists co-workers as needed
