Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally
  • ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crouch, twist and turn
  • ability to use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push
  • good near and far vision
  • ability to hear, talk and smell
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk for up to 5 hours and total 7 hours in an 8 hour shift
  • majority of duties performed indoors with moderate noise level
  • completion of brand-required training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • effective verbal communication skills with guests and co-workers
  • maintains professionalism, demonstrating courtesy and respect at all times
  • no special licenses or certificates required

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned number of rooms on a daily basis
  • cleans and sanitizes guest bathrooms of assigned rooms
  • changes linens and makes beds
  • detailed and general cleanliness of entire guest room, including dusting and vacuuming
  • sweeps and mops bathroom floor, sanitizes bathtub/shower, sink area, toilet, replenishes amenities and towels
  • checks under mattress and under bed for dust and forgotten items
  • cleans mirrors, disinfects doorknobs, remote, telephone
  • ensures all rooms have 'Do not disturb' signs and replenished guestroom collateral
  • sprays air freshener in rooms
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • assists other hotel areas as needed
  • maintains a safe work environment for co-workers and guests
