Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout a shift
- must be able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout a shift
- must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
- must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and into/out of closets
- ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- ability to read written instructions and computer print-outs
- willingness to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment
- ability to work in excessive heat and humidity in laundry area
- must be able to work full-time
Job Qualifications
- No formal education or training required
- basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- knowledge of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
- ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms
- cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways
- washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls in guest and public restrooms
- replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
- washes all hard floor areas by hand
- dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and wall hangings
- strips bed linens and remakes with fresh linens
- lifts mattresses to check for soil
- checks closets for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies
- vacuums rooms, hallways and public areas including underneath furniture
- inspects door and window locks for security
- inspects room equipment such as TV, lamps and faucets for proper operation and reports maintenance issues
- secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
- maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
