Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures and brand standards
  • Good communication skills to interact with guests and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in housekeeping
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and lift moderate weight
  • Dependability and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms and bathrooms in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards
  • Change sheets and make beds in stay-over and check-out guest rooms
  • Vacuum rooms thoroughly
  • Dust all surfaces including tables, nightstands, dressers, light fixtures, televisions, air conditioning units, and window ledges
  • Clean all mirrors
  • Notify guest services when room service is complete to facilitate room availability
  • Report any rooms that cannot be serviced within time standards to supervisor
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Respond promptly to guest, supervisor, or management requests
  • Maintain linen cart and supplies organized according to department standards
  • Secure all equipment, keys, and supplies issued daily
  • Report lost and found articles to supervisor
  • Replace light bulbs as needed
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing materials, bathroom supplies, and linens
  • Follow brand and company standards for cleaning including minutes per room
  • Participate in team cleaning and self-inspecting programs
  • Maintain maid station cleanliness and organization
  • Make rollaway beds when required
  • Provide a professional appearance and follow company policies at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
