Job Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- less than high school education or up to six months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read limited words and recognize similarities and differences
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- ability to deal with common problems
- must speak English to communicate with guests
- must recognize situations requiring supervisory attention
- knowledge of safety and security care for guests
- physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear
- ability to lift and move up to 25-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently
- ability to use cleaning fluids, solvents and hand tools
- ability to operate vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors
- ability to reach two feet above head
- tolerate moderate noise level
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to six months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- must be able to speak English to communicate with guests
- knowledge of safety and security measures in guest areas
Job Duties
- Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures
- stock cart with guest room supplies at beginning of shift
- greet guests with a Good Morning (or afternoon, evening)
- replace linens on beds and replenish guest room supplies
- empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
- rearrange furnishings, drapes and room accessories
- provide necessary linen and amenities to guests in accordance with guest room legend
- ensure guest room is left in uniform arrangement and door is locked
- report any damage, hazards, repairs, and strangers
- return lost and found items with proper documentation
- responsible for all keys signed out
- clean corridors and service areas
- respond to housekeeping management team projects
- replace light bulbs if necessary
- restock cart at end of shift and organize linen closet
- perform other housekeeping duties as assigned
