Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- up to six months related experience or training
- ability to read limited two- and three-syllable words
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- ability to speak English
- capable of recognizing situations needing supervisory attention
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
- able to operate cleaning tools and equipment
- willingness to work with cleaning fluids and solvents
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to six months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read simple two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- ability to speak English to communicate effectively with guests
- able to recognize situations requiring immediate supervisory attention
- knowledge and practice of safety and security for guests
Job Duties
- Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures
- stock cart with guest room supplies at beginning of shift
- greet guests with a good morning or appropriate greeting
- replace linens on beds and replenish guest room supplies
- empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
- rearrange furnishings, drapes and room accessories
- provide necessary linen and amenities to guests as per guest room legend
- ensure guest rooms are left in uniform arrangement and properly secured
- report any damages, hazards, repairs, and strangers in assigned areas
- return any found items with proper documentation to housekeeping department
- be responsible for all keys signed out for the shift
- clean all corridors and service areas
- respond to projects or requests developed by housekeeping management
- replace light bulbs when necessary
- restock cart and organize linen closet at end of shift
- perform other housekeeping duties as assigned
