Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout a shift
- able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout shift
- able to work with arms raised above head throughout shift
- able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
- ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- able to read written instructions and computer print-outs
- ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environment
- able to tolerate excessive heat and humidity in laundry
- inside 95 percent of shift
Job Qualifications
- No formal education or training required
- basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- understanding of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
- ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms
- cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, including using ladders or stools to clean hard to reach areas
- washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls to maintain clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms
- replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
- washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens, checking for cleanliness
- lifts mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under bed
- checks closet cleanliness, wiping surfaces and restocking guest supplies such as hangers, blankets and pillows
- vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways, moves heavy furniture to vacuum entire carpeted areas
- inspects door and window locks to ensure safety and reports unsecured situations
- inspects room equipment and reports maintenance issues
- secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
- maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- performs other duties as assigned by management
