Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs continually throughout a shift
- must be able to push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture during a shift
- must be able to work with arms raised above the head for extended periods
- ability to maneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and closets
- ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- ability to read written instructions and computer printouts
- able to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment
- able to work in areas with excessive heat and humidity such as the laundry area
- previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- No formal education or training required
- basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- knowledge of cleaning product usage and standard cleaning equipment operation
- ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Cleans and prepares guest rooms by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues
- retrieves items from shelves and storerooms and sets up cleaning cart with supplies maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
- cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways using ladders or stools when needed
- washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, mirrors, sinks, and walls for clean and sanitary restrooms
- replaces towels, soaps, and all room amenities and restocks literature to ensure adequate supplies
- washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- strips beds of all linen, remakes with fresh linens, checking and replacing bedspread, blankets, and bed pads if soiled
- lifts mattresses to check for soil between and under beds
- checks closets for cleanliness, wiping door, handle, and shelves and restocking guest supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and pillows
- vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways, including underneath furniture
- inspects all door and window locks and reports unsecured or unsafe situations immediately
- inspects room equipment such as TV, lights, faucets, radios to ensure proper working order and reports deficiencies to Executive Housekeeper
- secures equipment, keys, and supplies at all times
- maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
- performs other duties as assigned or requested by management
