Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • commitment to guest satisfaction
  • ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Responds to all guest requests appropriately
  • greet guests warmly with a smile and call them by name when possible
  • service assigned guest rooms thoroughly
  • keep supply cart and work areas neat and organized
  • check equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning
  • remove room service tables, trays, and garbage from rooms
  • strip beds and change linens daily
  • remove and replace soiled towels
  • place soiled linens and towels down linen chute
  • clean shower walls, tubs, sinks, toilets, and floors daily
  • spot clean walls, glass, doors, and baseboards
  • dust and clean furniture including chairs, lamps, desks, and tables
  • replace stationery items and in-room amenities as needed
  • replace used glassware with sanitized ones
  • replace terry cloth items and robes as needed
  • clean refrigerators, ice buckets, coffee makers, telephones, clocks, TVs, and remote controls
  • clean mirrors and picture frames daily
  • ensure light bulbs are working and replace or report as needed
  • hand in lost and found articles
  • recycle newspapers and bottles
  • perform special duties as assigned
  • greet guests according to 10/5 standard
  • enter guest rooms following security standards
  • have knowledge of the hotel facility and services
  • build solid relationships with colleagues
  • work in other hotel areas as needed to assist operations
