Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Physical stamina to work with arms raised above head
  • Ability to push, pull and move furniture and equipment
  • Ability to maneuver fully loaded cleaning cart weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • No formal education or training required
  • Previous cleaning experience desirable
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent vision with emphasis on cleanliness standards and quality control

Job Duties

  • Remove items from shelves and storage and prepare cleaning carts with products
  • Maintain cleaning carts and storage in order and good condition
  • Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and accessories in rooms, public areas, and hallways
  • Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and bathroom dividers, wipe exposed pipes and mirrors
  • Restock towels, soaps, and room amenities
  • Replenish printed materials
  • Hand wash all floor areas to remove dirt and stains
  • Dust and polish furniture, accessories, and wall hangings
  • Replace linens, inspect cleanliness of bedcovers, blankets and mattress covers
  • Lift mattresses to check for stains between and under beds
  • Clean closets and restock room items like hangers, blankets, and extra pillows
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, moving heavy furniture as needed
  • Inspect door and window locks and report safety concerns
  • Check room equipment such as TV, lights, taps, radios and report deficiencies
  • Ensure custody of hotel equipment, keys, and materials to protect assets
