Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Four to six months of housekeeping experience or training preferred
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple instructions
  • Ability to comply with standardized situations
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
  • Cleans multiple guest rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
  • Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
  • Cleans corridors, stairways, and public areas
  • Sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
  • Scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls, and bathroom fan
  • Conducts quality checks on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
  • Removes items left behind and manages Lost and Found process
  • Reports maintenance issues through proper channels
  • Uses supplies and equipment carefully
  • Wears proper uniform at all times
  • Achieves room inspection scores of 90 percent or higher
  • Greets guests pleasantly and uses guest names
  • Maintains knowledge of in-house products and local area information
  • Organizes and stocks housekeeping cart promptly
  • Participates in team effort to keep commercial areas clean
  • Responds timely to customer needs for housekeeping supplies
  • Checks vacant room status daily
  • Maintains supply room cleanliness and organization
  • Displays team attitude and assists co-workers
