Job Requirements

  • no formal education or training required
  • prior cleaning experience desirable
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • strong upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds continuously
  • ability to push, pull, and maneuver cleaning equipment and furniture
  • capability to work with arms raised above shoulder level
  • able to maneuver fully loaded cleaning carts weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work areas

Job Qualifications

  • basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
  • understanding of cleaning product use
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent vision with focus on cleanliness standards and quality control
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience desirable

Job Duties

  • Remove items from shelves and storage areas and prepare cleaning carts with products
  • maintain cleaning carts and storage areas orderly and in good condition
  • clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in guest rooms, public areas, and hallways
  • wash shower walls, tubs, and toilets
  • replenish towels, soaps, and amenities
  • hand wash floors to remove dirt and stains
  • dust and polish furniture and wall-hung items
  • change bed linens and inspect bedding for cleanliness
  • lift mattresses to check for stains
  • clean and organize closets
  • vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways
  • inspect locks on doors and windows for proper function
  • check all room equipment and report maintenance needs
  • secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and materials
