Job Duties
- Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
- clean multiple rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
- replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- cleans corridors and stairways
- sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dusts furniture, washes walls and woodwork, washes windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
- transports trash and waste to disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
- scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
- completes a quality check on the television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
- removes items left behind and follows hotel procedure
- reports maintenance problems through proper channels
- uses supplies and equipment carefully
- wears proper uniform at all times
- achieves 90 percent or higher on room inspections
- gives pleasant greetings to guests
- maintains knowledge of hotel products and local area
- keeps supply cart stocked and organized
- assists in keeping commercial area clean and neat
- responds promptly to housekeeping supply requests
- uses guest names when entering occupied rooms
- checks all vacant rooms daily
- maintains supply room organization
- displays team attitude and assists co-workers when necessary
