Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • four to six months housekeeping experience or training preferred but not required
  • ability to work flexible shifts
  • ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, climb, balance, talk, and hear while performing duties
  • able to work in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • proper uniform must be worn at all times
  • score of 90% or higher on room inspections

Job Duties

  • Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
  • cleans multiple rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
  • replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
  • cleans corridors and stairways
  • sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
  • cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
  • transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
  • scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
  • completes quality checks on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
  • removes items left behind and follows proper hotel procedure
  • reports maintenance issues through proper channels
  • uses supplies and equipment carefully
  • wears proper uniform at all times
  • obtains score of 90% or higher on room inspections
  • greets guests pleasantly
  • maintains thorough knowledge of hotel products and local area
  • maintains organized supply cart
  • supports team effort in keeping commercial areas clean
  • responds timely to supply requests
  • uses guest names when entering occupied rooms
  • checks vacant rooms daily
  • maintains clean and neat supply room
  • assists co-workers as needed
