Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to lift 50 pounds maximum
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach frequently
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to bend and reach to dust, clean and make beds and bathrooms
  • ability to stand and walk for varying lengths of time
  • effective communication skills to provide information and answer questions
  • visual inspection skills for room cleanliness and guest belongings
  • proficiency in written communication for marking rooms on daily paperwork
  • manual dexterity to move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily for cleaning duties

Job Duties

  • Stock housekeeping bag to ensure that enough cleaning needs, equipment and amenities are available
  • observe knocking procedures upon entering a guest room
  • clean the guest rooms assigned and ensure amenities are stocked
  • complete entire housekeeping checklist
  • accurately mark clean rooms to supervisor for inspection
  • report any damages or hazards present in guest rooms in Guestware or to Housekeeping Coordinator
  • secure guest room doors upon exiting
  • keep corridors and service area neat at all times
  • turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions to management
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
  • maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by management
  • assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
