Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • Must maintain neat, clean and professional appearance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to bend and reach to dust, clean and make beds and bathroom
  • Ability to stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods
  • Good verbal communication skills to interact with guests and answer questions
  • Ability to visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and left-behind guest belongings
  • Capability to use written communication skills to mark completed rooms on daily paperwork
  • Dexterity to move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties

Job Duties

  • Stock housekeeping bag to ensure cleaning needs, equipment and amenities are available to properly clean each room
  • Observe knocking procedures upon entering a guest room
  • Clean assigned guest rooms and ensure amenities are stocked
  • Complete entire housekeeping checklist
  • Accurately mark clean rooms to supervisor for inspection
  • Report damages or hazards such as burned out light bulbs, broken furniture or lights in Guestware or to Housekeeping Coordinator
  • Secure guest room doors upon exiting
  • Keep corridors and service areas neat
  • Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilize protective equipment
  • Report unsafe conditions to management
  • Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per team member handbook
  • Perform any related duties as requested by management
  • Assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
