Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping and walking
  • availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
  • ability to comply with company standards, rules and regulations
  • reliable attendance record
  • good communication skills
  • ability to maintain a hospitable service atmosphere
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • any combination of education and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 150 pounds
  • ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds
  • ability to scrub and scour surfaces, including extending arms overhead
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • effective communication skills with associates and guests
  • ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • basic comprehension of English language to understand labels, instructions and guest requests
  • maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance according to company standards

Job Duties

  • clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, windows and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes and/or cleaning agents
  • spot clean stains on walls, doors, carpet and furniture
  • strip and make beds, changing bed linens, including bed skirts, mattress toppers and pillow protectors
  • dust all furniture, pictures, window ledges and shelves thoroughly
  • check under beds to remove trash or other debris
  • maintain cleanliness of public spaces such as lobby, public restrooms, offices, elevators and stairways
  • push and pull vacuum throughout guest rooms and empty trash
  • replenish amenities, linens and supplies in guest rooms
  • sign for keys, retrieve and push cart weighing up to 150 pounds
  • visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance
  • report all repairs or maintenance problems to supervisor
  • greet guests in hallways and inquire about their stay
  • respond timely to guest requests for items and information
  • report suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions
  • turn in items found to Lost and Found department
  • assist room attendants and cross train when necessary
