Job Duties
- Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
- cleans multiple rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
- replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- cleans corridors and stairways
- sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dusts furniture, washes walls and woodwork, washes windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
- transports trash and waste to disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
- scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
- completes a quality check on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
- removes items left behind from rooms and follows hotel lost and found procedures
- reports maintenance issues to maintenance department
- uses supplies and equipment carefully
- wears proper uniform at all times
- achieves score of 90 percent or higher on room inspections
- greets guests pleasantly
- maintains knowledge of hotel products and local area information
- organizes and stocks housekeeping cart
- participates in team efforts to keep commercial area clean and neat
- responds timely to customer supply requests
- uses guest names when entering occupied rooms
- checks vacant rooms daily
- maintains clean and organized supply room
- assists co-workers when needed
