Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping experience is an advantage but not required
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • physically able to bend, reach, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and smile frequently
  • ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • dependable and punctual
  • willing to work varying shifts as hotel operates 24/7
  • ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to company standards

Job Qualifications

  • bend and reach to dust, clean, and make beds and bathroom
  • stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods
  • communicate with guests to provide information and services
  • visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and left belongings
  • use written communication skills to mark completed rooms
  • move fingers, arms, and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties

Job Duties

  • stock housekeeping bag to ensure cleaning supplies and amenities are sufficient
  • observe knocking procedures before entering guest rooms
  • clean assigned guest rooms thoroughly
  • restock amenities in each cleaned room
  • accurately mark cleaned rooms for supervisor inspection
  • report damages or hazards such as broken furniture or lights
  • secure guest room doors upon exiting
  • maintain cleanliness in corridors and service areas
  • turn in lost and found items and guest room keys
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security protocols
  • know and apply department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • use protective equipment appropriately
  • report unsafe conditions to management
  • report accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by management
  • assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
