Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to perform physical activities such as standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 pounds
- familiarity with use of commercial cleaning chemicals
- availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
Job Qualifications
- Some previous housekeeping experience preferred
- experience in extended stay environments is beneficial
- ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred
- other languages are a plus
- basic reading, writing, and math skills preferred
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to follow instructions and hotel standards
- physical capacity to handle job demands
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all guest interactions
- respond to guest complaints and special requests promptly
- clean and service assigned rooms including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms
- clean kitchen areas and appliances as required
- notify supervisors when room service is completed and report any rooms that cannot be serviced
- monitor and operate laundry equipment and manage linen inventory
- minimize waste of supplies and amenities
- assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned
- report needed repairs or unsafe conditions
- handle lost and found items according to procedures
- promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with staff
- ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- perform other duties as assigned
