- High school education or equivalent preferred
- four to six months housekeeping experience or training preferred
- ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions

Job Duties
- Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
- cleans multiple guest rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
- replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- cleans corridors and stairways
- sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
- transports trash to disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
- scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls, and bathroom fan
- completes quality checks on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
- removes items left behind and follows lost and found procedure
- reports maintenance problems through proper channels
- responsibly uses supplies and equipment
- wears proper uniform at all times
- achieves 90 percent or higher on room inspections
- greets each guest pleasantly
- maintains knowledge of hotel products and local area information
- organizes cart and stocks on time after completing rooms
- contributes to keeping commercial area clean
- responds timely to housekeeping supply requests
- uses guest name when entering occupied rooms
- checks vacant rooms daily for correct status
- keeps supply room clean, neat, and organized
- assists coworkers when needed
