Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout a shift
  • able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
  • able to work with arms raised above head for extended periods
  • able to maneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
  • ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
  • ability to read written instructions and computer print-outs

Job Qualifications

  • No formal education or training required
  • must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
  • able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
  • cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways
  • washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors and sinks to maintain clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms
  • replaces towels, soaps and room amenities and restocks literature
  • washes all hard floor areas by hand
  • dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
  • strips and remakes beds with fresh linen, checking for cleanliness
  • lifts mattresses to check for soil underneath
  • checks closet cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies
  • vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways including under furniture and hard to reach areas
  • inspects all door and window locks for safety, immediately alerts management if issues arise
  • inspects room equipment such as TV, lights, faucets and radios and reports maintenance deficiencies
  • secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
  • maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
  • performs other duties as assigned
