Job Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a registered nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of recent experience as an RN
- Or LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if transferring within Cleveland Clinic ambulatory care
- Ability to draw blood and perform EKGs
- Proficient or willing to learn EPIC and electronic medical records (EMR)
Job Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a registered nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of recent experience as an RN or clinical experience within Cleveland Clinic
- Ability to draw blood and perform EKGs
- Proficient or willing to learn EPIC and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Commitment to obtain BSN within three years preferred
- Two or more years of nursing experience preferred
Job Duties
- Assess health status by completing nursing assessments
- Perform telephone triage
- Notify physicians and licensed independent practitioners (LIPs) of abnormal findings
- Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Collaborate with care coordinators for smooth transitions of care
- Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Administer medications and monitor patients for response
- Initiate CPR and emergency measures
- Provide health education to patients and families
- Develop, evaluate, and document education to meet learning needs
- Participate in quality initiatives and research activities
- Maintain professional growth and core competencies
- Draw blood and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs)
