Job Requirements

  • Experience as a chef or kitchen manager
  • ability to prepare therapeutic and modified diets
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • successful completion of a recognized food safety course
  • experience in a senior living community is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare delicious food that meets a variety of dietary needs
  • conduct regular Quality Assurance Audits to ensure food is well prepared and kitchen is neat and organized
  • ensure kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling compliance with King County and DSHS regulations
  • maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors
  • hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff
  • assist with supervising utility and front of house staff as needed
  • create a motivating environment encouraging team involvement, creativity, and problem solving
  • act as Executive Chef in their absence
  • perform other duties as assigned
