Job Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in relevant fields
  • One to three years of related and progressively responsible work experience
  • Experience with customer relations, food service practices, sanitation, safety procedures, and accounting
  • Familiarity with food preparation equipment
  • Supervisory and managerial experience
  • Ability to work during university closures or emergency conditions
  • Must submit a resume and three professional references
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in hotel restaurant and institutions management, business administration, dietetics, food systems and economics management, or nutrition
  • One to three years of related and progressively responsible work experience in food service management
  • Experience in customer relations, food service practices, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Familiarity with food preparation equipment
  • Supervisory and managerial experience
  • Experience in banquet coordination, planning, designing, and setting up special events
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Directs food service staff in preparation and service of food in residence hall serving unit
  • Monitors daily food production and presentation to ensure conformity with menus, recipes, and quality standards
  • Implements training programs for support staff
  • Receives and resolves customer concerns or suggestions
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety procedures
  • Coordinates food service operations to meet customer demands
  • Maintains accounting and reporting related to food service activities
