Job Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain current food handlers card
  • ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline oriented work environment
  • flexible schedule including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays required
  • ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • ability to work long periods on feet including frequent walking, stair climbing, and working outdoors
  • positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service
  • ability to perform repetitive movements and fine hand manipulations
  • ability to work with heat sources, sharp objects, and cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Previous management related experience preferred but not required
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to accurately work with numbers and menu specifications
  • ability to manage staff in a positive and professional manner
  • capable of multitasking in a high volume, fast paced kitchen environment
  • ability to work with diverse individuals
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment and tools safely
  • effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee and supervise kitchen staff during shifts
  • train new and existing cooks
  • enforce portioning and food presentation standards
  • maintain communication with executive chef and management
  • manage kitchen service areas to ensure they are stocked and organized
  • regulate labor and oversee side work
  • perform administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll
  • handle customer service issues and resolve personnel conflicts
  • ensure adherence to McMenamins policies and food safety procedures
  • perform kitchen tasks including prep cook, line cook, and dishwasher duties as needed
