Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year culinary experience in a sushi restaurant kitchen or equivalent education, training, or experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to push/pull up to 25 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and balancing
  • Must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to comprehend and follow supervisor's instructions
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Strong knowledge of food service industry, cuisines and beverages
  • Good communication and task completion skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of culinary experience in a sushi restaurant kitchen or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
  • Strong knowledge of food service industry, cuisines and beverages
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to work with interruptions and follow supervisor's instructions
  • Coordination, analyzing, precision working, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Job Duties

  • Safely prepare all food prep and food items in accordance with standard hotel recipes and specifications
  • Ensure good turnover of products by practicing proper rotation and maintaining inventory standards
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice and provide excellent guest service
  • Monitor staff performance, product quality, and production flow in the absence of Saucier or Sous Chef and foster improvements where needed
  • Participate in the activities of cooks and other team members involved in preparing, cooking and presenting food according to hotel productivity standards, cost controls and special needs
  • Make constant contact with internal and external guests and various hotel departments to provide optimal guest service
  • Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
