Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of retail leadership experience
- Proficient with scheduling and payroll systems
- Ability to manage staff and delegate responsibilities efficiently
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physically capable of standing walking bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a pet-friendly environment with exposure to animal care
- Committed to upholding company policies and ethical standards
Job Qualifications
- 4-6 years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full time availability including flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react calmly under pressure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Recruiting interviewing hiring coaching and terminating associates
- Build an open-door culture by engaging and listening to associates
- Create and post schedules for the entire store
- Facilitate associate development including reviews recognition training onboarding mentoring and succession planning
- Delegate effectively and empower team members to succeed
- Lead pet parent and associate experiences ensuring safety and satisfaction
- Analyze store operations and implement continuous improvement
- Collaborate on in-store and community events including partnerships with local adoption groups
- Maintain store standards ensuring compliance with policies and ethics
- Conduct monthly audits and safety walkthroughs
- Manage business metrics including sales labor expenses and inventory levels
- Process payroll and manage labor within budget
- Communicate business results and improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures
- Handle associate complaints and grievances
- Recognize and celebrate associate achievements
- Respond immediately to any sick or injured pets and coordinate veterinary care if needed
- Uphold store opening and closing procedures to maintain brand standards
