Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- master's degree preferred
- four plus years of multi-unit management experience
- seven plus years of retail experience with full profit and loss responsibility preferred
- previous retail experience in discount, convenience, grocery or similar environment
- ability to travel weekly with limited overnight stays
- current driver’s license
- acceptable driving history

- Demonstrated results-oriented leadership including the ability to model total development and serve as a steward of Dollar General's mission and values
- financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, manage budgets, and control inventory
- ability to produce desired results by leveraging resources, maintaining strong expense control, managing merchandise effectively, and setting clear expectations
- strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including providing superior customer service, reacting appropriately under pressure, applying good judgment in ambiguous situations, and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives
- outstanding verbal, written, and technical communication skills
- leadership capability for future development as Divisional Vice President
Job Duties
- Lead store teams including Area Managers and store management by fostering a culture that supports Dollar General's mission and values
- ensure fair administration of human resources policies and practices
- provide superior customer service through fun and friendly stores
- achieve regional annual sales in excess of $150 million by managing quality orders and efficient flow processes
- utilize all tools in each store and market for superior inventory presentation and management
- plan and execute company objectives effectively
- maximize performance and productivity through sensible store scheduling
- develop human capital through proper selection and education of employees and customers
- protect company assets by enforcing loss prevention and expense control measures
- build field partnerships with distribution centers, merchandising, store growth initiatives, training and employee development, recruiting, and employee relations
- consistently communicate company priorities to area and store management teams
