Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years retail supervisory experience
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and handle physical activities as required
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 100 pounds occasionally with team assistance
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be over the age of 18 (except where local laws differ)
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional conduct under pressure
- Basic proficiency in computer applications and point-of-sale systems
- Capability to handle and care for live animals responsibly
- Adherence to company policies and safety standards

- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a focus on maintaining visually appealing store layouts
Job Duties
- Support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling, providing training on product knowledge and presentation standards
- Facilitate the associate experience and support associate development including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback
- Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks
- Lead and direct associates when acting as the leader on duty
- Address and administer associate complaints and grievances
- Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales including receiving product, product placement, seasonal displays, and promotional setups
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and analyze sales trends to make recommendations for stock replenishment and markdowns
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and addressing discrepancies
- Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintain store standards and ensure compliance with policies and code of ethics
- Participate in store opening and closing procedures
- Complete monthly live cycle counts and address discrepancies
- Responsible for pet care maintenance including cleaning, feeding, providing water, caring for sick pets, and ensuring quarantine compliance
- Ensure a positive experience for pet parents with online orders including pick-up and shipping
- Take immediate action and report when a sick or injured pet is identified, including transport to veterinarian
- Follow company policies to prepare for and receive new store-owned pet arrivals.
