Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in retail dining or food service
- Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to student employment and professional development opportunities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to retail dining operations
- Basic computer proficiency for scheduling and inventory management
Job Qualifications
- Experience supporting or coordinating front of house retail dining initiatives with foundational leadership capacity is required
- Experience within food service in a higher education environment is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to foster a welcoming and respectful environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
Job Duties
- Provide oversight of the Alpine Express Convenience Store including scheduling staff, stocking, taking inventory, and service
- Assist the Retail Manager in all aspects of operations, maintenance, and service from all Retail outlets as needed
- Greet and serve all customers with kindness and respect
- Take customer orders and process payments
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, milk shakes, and specialty beverages
- Prepare and serve limited hot food options
- Clean and sanitize work areas, seating areas, equipment, and utensils
- Restock displays and communicate to the Retail Manager any order or repair requirements
- Describe and have knowledge of menu items, suggest products, and answer customer questions
- Assist in the testing and development of beverage recipes
