Job Description

The General Manager position is a pivotal leadership role at the Naval Academy's Retail Dining group, responsible for overseeing multiple dining venues at a prominent and historic location. The venues under management include the exciting new multi-venue Club at Greenbury Point expected to open in Spring 2026, the Alley at the Naval Academy Club, 1845 Coffee, Drydock, and Steerage restaurants. Job Requirements

  • four years of equivalent managerial or supervisory experience in the country club or hospitality industry
  • education or experience in hotel, hospitality, or restaurant management or closely related field preferred
  • proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and PowerPoint
  • experience in preparing financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports
  • strong communication and social skills
  • ability to interact with high-level officials and VIPs
  • extensive knowledge of logistical, organizational, and management skills for planning and executing complex Naval Academy Retail Dining and hospitality catered events
  • decision-making ability to resolve conflicts and crises

Job Duties

  • oversee all Retail Dining operations at assigned locations including multi-venue Club at Greenbury Point and other restaurants
  • motivate and lead a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence
  • manage financial planning, budgeting, and inventory control
  • coordinate and execute complex Naval Academy hospitality catered events
  • foster a culture of outstanding hospitality and customer service
  • communicate effectively with subordinates, customers, VIPs, and dignitaries
  • resolve conflicts and crises decisively
