Job Duties

  • Contributes to hospital’s philosophy, mission statement, and values in all interactions
  • Follows established uniform policy
  • Maintains a professional image
  • Responds positively to all requests and interactions
  • Utilizes standardized recipes and ingredient control
  • Follows proper preparation procedures
  • Checks food temperatures, texture, color, aroma, and taste prior to service for all items at designated stations
  • Batch cooks all food products which do not maintain temperature, texture, color, aroma or taste if held for thirty minutes
  • Prepares food to order at request of customer
  • Ensures proper food rotation (first in, first out method)
  • Maintains safe food storage with no cross-contamination, labeling and dating all food items
  • Serves food from steam tables following all holding procedures and time/temperature regulations
  • Stocks and monitors designated cold food items and NSF rated warmers at stations following all regulations
  • Follows position timeline and job routine
  • Maintains department timeline through on-time performance
  • Adheres to attendance/clock-in policies
  • Records all food production amounts
  • Serves appropriate, pre-determined portion sizes
  • Attends scheduled department inservices and production meetings
  • Assists with cross-training of other employees
