Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two to three years of recent cashier or customer service experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, Fridays, and weekends
- Comfortable handling cash and operating retail point-of-sale systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work full-time hours
- Team player with a positive attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to three years' recent experience as a cashier or in customer service or equivalent cash management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic computer skills for transaction processing
- Flexible schedule including evenings, Fridays, and at least one weekend day
- Ability to work full-time hours
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to contribute positively to a team-oriented workplace environment
Job Duties
- Remains consistently friendly and courteous to all customers
- Computes or re-computes bill, itemized lists, and invoices showing amount due
- Makes change, accepts checks and credit cards, and issues receipts to customers
- Understands, applies, and follows cashier's standards as written
- Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions
- Applies/processes cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
- Promotes Summit Speed Card and processes applications
- Balances cash drawer and completes closeout sheet each day
- Answers incoming telephone calls
- Assists with merchandising duties as needed
- General housekeeping as necessary
- Promotes in-store specials
- Contributes to a positive workplace environment
- Processes returns and completes paperwork for warranty returns when a return specialist is not available
- Ensures retail location is clear of missing parts
- Stocks shelves and counters with merchandise
- Assists in setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters to promote sales
- Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise
- Obtains merchandise requested by customer and places merchandise in a bag or box
- Assists customers in carrying larger items to their vehicle
- Answers customer's questions and offers assistance or direction
- Greets customers when they enter the store and checks packages and receipts when exiting the store
- Understands, applies, and follows performance standards as written
